I remember four years ago we meandered into a restaurant in Melchsee that had a large Rosti menu, and their theme on the tables was a little ruchsac (burlap backpack). Also noticed that everyone in the restaurant got ice cream with whipped cream (rahm) for dessert. It was a great after hike treat coming from Planplatten to Bahmeregghorn on the Horizonweg trail, or as the Untours book calls it, the "Creme de la creme" hike. Sorry, I forgot the name of the restaurant, but it was near the Bahmeregghorn to Melchsee chairlift, near the Melchsee end.

Since there is a lull in the Idyllchat traffic lately, perhaps we can begin a new thread.
Jans favorite food in Switzerland is Rosti, and she has fallen in love with the vegetable Rosti. The only place we have found it (that we know how to return to) is at the Brunig Hotel in Hergiswil. Compared to most restaurants which offer only one or two types, they have a large Rosti menu. Does anyone know of other places that offer a large menu of Rosti dishes?
My favorite is Raclette, and I remember years ago that the Bahnhofli in Lungern had a wide selection of Raclette plates, with various meats, etc. I dont think that is true any longer. Does anyone know of such a menu at any other restaurant?
Wed also be interested in hearing about anyones favorite dishes at special restaurants, reasonably priced, of course.
Brian and Jan Cooley.
