As we approach summer, we are beginning to realize that our first Untours is
going to be approaching. We are doing two weeks at the Azzuro in Northern
Tuscany (Oct. 10 - 24). We arriving a week early to spend some time in the
Veneto...Verona. Then after the Untour, we are flying down to Sicily to
visit cousins for 5 days before returning to the States. So, we are using
our frequent flier miles to do our travel and are flying in and out of
Milan. Needlesstosay, we have some details that we have to finalize to make
all this happen. If anyone who has traveled this area (especially through
Milan) has any suggestions, we would appreciate them.
1. Can anyone recommend a small hotel that we could stay at when we arrive
in Milan at Malpensa airport. We will have two days in Milan before taking
the train to Verona, so would like it to be easy to get to from the airport
and near the train station.
2. Does anyone have information on how to find out about taking a train from
Milan to Verona? We will not need a car while we are in Verona but will
arrange to get our Untour Rental car a couple of days early in Verona and
then drive ourselves to the Lucca area for our Untour.
3. When we return we will be flying in to Milan-Linate airport from Sicily
on a Sunday and then departing out of Malpensa the next morning for LA. Can
anyone offer suggestions on where to stay that night that would minimize the
hassle of getting from the Linate area to the Malpensa area?
Also, if anyone on the list is going to be doing a Northern Tuscany Untour
the same weeks as we are, please contact us.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
