[Idyllchat] Kandersteg

We will be in Meiringin at the same time. We stayed in Kandersteg in 2005.  
Be sure and take the train to Brig. Then change and take a train into Stresa in 
 Italy. It will probably be very hot there. In Stresa take the boat to the  
islands, about a 15 minute, tops, trip. Very pretty and very Italian. Also, you 
 can take a train from Brig to Domodossola and then change and take the 
scenic  train into Locarno. It is a very pretty trip and a good day to do it is 
when the  weather is not nice in Kandersteg, because it might be completely 
different on  the other side of the mountains.
Eat in the Victoria Ritter, a very pretty hotel in town. The owner is  most 
hospitable. don't forget to visit Thun and Interlaken and take the  boat rides 
on the lakes. It was fun to take the chair lift up the mountain and  to walk 
down to the lake. Coming back, I took advantage of the horse and cart  waiting 
at the restaurant instead of walking back uphill to the chair lift. We  were 
there at the time of the infamous floods. Even the trains stopped running.  But 
we all had a great time.
