[Idyllchat] Swiss Oberland - Chateau Alpentraum in Kanderstag w/2 kids?

Hello ~ 
I'd greatly appreciate hearing from those of you who are experienced  
Untourists.  We've reserved Chateau Alpentraum in the Swiss Oberland for  mid-August 
and would love to hear your opinions and thoughts on: 
1) Our choice of Kandersteg as jumping off point for lots of  exploring and 
hiking, 
2) Is there enough to do to keep our 2 girls, ages 8 and 13, busy and  
interested for 2 weeks?  They are good travelers (active and love the  outdoors) but 
would probably also love to be staying in a resort with a pool and  all the 
amenities.
3) Would love to hear from anyone w/experience staying at  the Chateau 
Alpentraum (especially w/a family). 4) Any other general  advice.
