I was returning from Hawaii several years ago with a camera bag and 2
sets of AA rechargeables in the side pockets. As I am going through
screening I notice that my stuff is making several back and forth
movements along the conveyor belt. A younger TSA agent is running the
Xray machine and talking to an older agent as this is happening.
A moment later, the older TSA agent asks me to step aside and tells me
that he'd like to check my camera bag. So we move over to another table.
He unzips the side pockets and removes the AA batteries. He gives me a
slight grin and says "Pardon me for a second while I explain to my
coworker that these aren't shotgun shells."
