Jan and I did the Gelmersee several years ago, after reading a
recommendation from Vance, and really enjoyed the day, . Two comments...as
I recall, the bus trip was expensive, because we were charged as if we were
taking one of the pass routes. Also, the funicular, which by itself is
worth a visit, was very busy and we waited in line for maybe an hour going
up. But once at the top, it was fantastic. We didn't go all the way
around, not as brave as Hal and Vance, but still enjoyed a good hike and a
picnic lunch. This is on our return trip list for later this summer.
