[Idyllchat] interesting bars and Cafes in Paris

Dear all,

Sounded like an honest question to me especially given that nearly
every major city in Europe either has a gay district or gay-friendly areas.
To add on to the comment by Powen about the Marais district, it's
specifically the rue St.-Croixe-de-la-Bretonnerie that is considered the
center of gay Paris. There are number of bars, cafés and restaurants
(though no dance clubs that I've ever noticed) that are either openly gay
or gay-friendly with mixed crowds.

We here at Untours happen to use a fantastic hotel on that same
street called the Hotel de la Bretonnerie, loved by many Untourists over
the last 15 years we've worked with them, and it's considered to be in
a great location since the Marais district is very diverse, lively and
very central. Within a 10 min. walk, you've got the Jewish Quarter, 16th
and 17th century mansions (now often museums like the Musée Picasso), art
galleries and, topically speaking, the gay quarter. Oh, let me now forget
the plethora of bakeries, cafés, restaurants and, for tea lovers, the
Mariage Frères tea shop.

Since I've often stayed at the Bretonnerie and just spent part of
my recent overseas trip nearby (still in the Marais district), I can tell
you that's it's a fun part of the city to visit regardless of why you're
there (personally my favorite part of the city). Hope that helps as well.

Sincerely,

Dodge
