Fellow Travelers,
Page 3B of today's USA Today has an article by Sandra Block entitled "Before
going abroad, check out ways to reduce currency-exchange fees."
Here is the table that goes with the article;
Currency-conversion fees charged by major banks and credit card providers:
Capitol One, None
Washington Mutual, 1%
American Express, 2%
Bank of America, 3%
Chase, 3%
Citibank , 3%
US Bancorp (US Bank), 3%
Wells Fargo, 3%
The example provided by Ms. Block is ... if you spent 100 British pounds and
it converted to 198 US dollars, a 3% currency conversion fee would add about
6 US dollars.
Happy travels,
Dick Stewart
