[Idyllchat] What are Paris & Normandy like in October?

I enjoyed my trip to Paris in May.  The temperature and rainfall numbers look similar for October, and that month might suit my schedule better for my next trip, which will include Normandy and a trip to Bruges.  Although any time is a good time to go to Paris, I'm wondering how October compares to May in terms of number of tourists.  Also, are attractions still open?  Are operating hours reduced?  What are your memories of the gardens and foliage?  Thanks for your help.
