I have fond memories of Provence since my first visit
in 1982/83. My son was spending his junior year of
H.S. in Orange and we rented a house in Roussillon
that December/January. I've been back often as there
is always more to see. My most recent visit was this
June on a Food and Wine of Provence Elderhostel. Right
now I have 3 M.F.K.Fisher books out from my library to
help remind me of some of my experiences.
Definitely the Sunday market at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
I'd be sure to include Aix-en-Provence, Vaison la
Romaine, Gordes, Les Baux, Roussillon, Pont du Gard,
Avignon.....the list goes on and on. Any guidebook
will offer suggestions. You can't go wrong in
Provence. A lot of these sites are more tourist
oriented now than they used to be but they are well
worth joining the hordes of visitors.
