Greetings Idyllchat Members!

We are starting an exciting new project called the Untours
Cafe<http://www.untourscafe.com/>and we need some help. It is a new
website designed to help anyone on an
Untour share the fun of their trip with others via the web.

If you think of Idyllchat (our email conversation among Untourists) as a
house, this new project, Untours Cafe, is a multimedia addition on that
house. At www.untourscafe.com, you can *upload pictures and videos* from
your trip, write your own *trip-blog*, chat with others in a forum and more.
And getting involved is easy! You don't have to be a 'techie' to
participate! We won't be eliminating Idyllchat; and Idyllchat members need
not use the Untours Cafe if they don't want, but they can! We hope they
both compliment one another.

But first, we need some 'guinea pigs' to help us test the basics. While, the
Untours Cafe site is still under construction, we would like to ask those on
Idyllchat to help us 'kick the tires' on this new website a bit. Today,
about half of your should receive an email personally asking you to join the
Cafe. (We are inviting everyone on Idyllchat but not all at once, so we can
answer questions and fix bugs as smaller groups of people first start trying
the site out..) When you receive your invitation, it will come from
new at untourscafe.com. You are smaller set of a group of about 600 that will
be invited to the Untours Cafe before we officially launch the site in
September. There are already about 70 members, many of whom you will
recognize from Idyllchat (Pete Haggart and Vance Roy are among our old
friends there.) Once you receive your invitation, you will get about 4
emails after that, about every other day. In it, we will ask you to go on
the site and do ONE thing that will usually take about ten minutes. The one
thing might be:

   - sign up and fill out your profile
   - upload a photo (of you, or your favorite Untours landlady, or your
   dog.....)
   - add any videos you would find on the web, or have taken yourself
   - watch a movie that tells you how to create your very own page at
Untours Café (and you learn how to watch the movies, too)

We will send you careful instructions on how to do each thing. Here's the
fun part. Once you do the daily task, tell us how it went. If you discover
anything you think we need to know about ("This button doesn't work",
"Instructions here are unclear" , "Everything is perfect, you guys are
geniuses.";-)) there is a tab titled FORUM right on the site where you can
tell us. And you can pick and choose which "to do's" you want to do--every
little thing, or just the ones that interest you.

The only people on this test version site right now are you -- our good
buddies-- and the staff here in Media, and since we haven't worked out all
the kinks yet, please keep this experimental version between us. Many of
the members you see theer have already tackled some of the technical
hurdles, so feel free to ask a member, especially one who you recognize as a
fellow Idyllchat member, for their advice.

If you are the eager beaver type and never read instructions, and don't want
to wait for your invitation, you can go ahead and go to
www.untourscafe.comnow and start playing around.

Thanks a million for helping us test this new way for Untourists to share
the fun of their trip with others. (Apologies if this invitation is a
repetition of an earlier one.)

The Untours Cafe Staff ,

Marilee, Kim and Powen

PS: For any individual questions about the topic of UntoursCafe.you may
have, feel free to ask me at marilee.taussig at untours.com. Since not all
Idyllchatters will be joining at once it is nicer if they don't have the
questions that don't yet pertain to them to page past.

PS: For digital photographers out there who already have photos uploaded to
Flickr, you needn't upload them again on Untours Cafe, (you can link to your
Flickr account!)
