We really enjoyed Austria and I am sure you will enjoy staying with the 
Seiwald.  When we took our Austria untour we opted for public transportation 
and while it got it where we wanted to go, we found it much less efficient 
than Switzerland.  The connections just didn't seem to match well and we 
found ourselves waiting a lot.  However, you don't want a car around 
Salzburg.  If we were to go again we would take one week of public 
transportation and rent one week.  The first week with public transportation 
concentrate on those areas close by from Salzburg to Bischofshofen.  The 
second week take longer trips like the Grossglockner, Concentration Camp 
Mauthausen and Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle’s Nest).
