[Idyllchat] Untour to South Tuscany

We will be doing a regular Untour in South Tuscany in mid-October.  Prior to going to our apartment we will be staying in Florence overnight  (an afternoon, evening and brief morning).  Can anyone recommend reading material for South Tuscany and a hotel in Florence for such a brief time.  We would hope to see some of Florence on foot and have a nice dinner.
