[Idyllchat] Ticino- Venice

I have been on many Venice city tours and day trips with Avventure Bellissime - www.tours-italy.com When you get to the site click on Venice.

It's a first-class operation, with only English-speaking guides. (The owners are from England.) On the day trips into the countryside they use a van and carry no more than 8 people.

A nice small neighborhood restaurant is Dona Onesta. When I was there no English was spoken, and we were the only non-Venetians there. We tried two Venetian specialties - sardines en saor(sp), and liver and onions - and both were excellent.

Another restaurant I like is in Campo San Toma'. I've never been inside because they have a big outdoor dining area on the campo. Many Venetians, but also some tourists. Their sgroppino is one of the best.

If you find a small neighborhood restaurant with locals inside, you can't go wrong. And sit back at any bar (cafe) in any campo and enjoy a spritz with Aperol and people-watch for as long as you wish.

Enjoy, Lynanne
