Hi Carol,

In  1988, my husband and I traveled in Italy.  We spent a week in Rome and 
took a day trip to Tivoli.  There were several escorted day trips, and as I 
recall I felt they were too expensive.  We ended up going on our own, taking 
a local bus and touring the gardens, fountains etc. on our own. And the cost 
was about 75% less that the escorted bus tours.

At that time it was quite lovely.
