I would like to second Bob's suggestion that you read his trip log.  I have just re-read it , and it made our trip last spring come alive again.  I would also second his recommendation to read "Vanilla Beans and Brodo"  - it made Montalcino even more fascinating.  We didn't accomplish nearly as much as Bob did, but there were 4 of us, and it was over Easter, so those 2 things slowed us down(my excuse!)  It didn't; matter, every day was enjoyable, and the whole trip was one you won't forget!  I should point out that you can no longer turn in your car in chuisi, at least you couldn't last year.
