Sandy,  We last flew with Air India in 1985.  It was a terrible trip, 
bad storms at JFK both ways.  Obviously no fault of Air India.  Outbound 
we sat in the air plane for five hours, had dinner and the movie on the 
ground.  Might fault the airline for that, but I don't know if they had 
the option of letting us off the plane while waiting for storm to subside. 
Shortly after our trip an Air India 747 was blown up (probably by Sihk 
terrorists) over the Irish Sea.
We have not used Air India since.  We have not used JFK either.
