We just came back from a week in Venice in October. We stayed at the Fenice
and found it comfortable. One of the best things about it is you have your
own private garden. The apartment is on the ground floor. The kitchen is
tiny and it would be difficult to make a dinner in it, but not impossible.

We found the location ideal, just a short walk to La Fenice, the Plaza ,the
high end shops, (fun to window shop) and to the vaporettos.

We were given a cell phone to use while we were there. The bed was
comfortable and roomy by European standards.

No matter where you stay, you will be walking, walking, walking and going up
and down little bridges so be sure to bring your best walking shoes.

We only had one week there but wish we had two. Be sure and go to the
out-lying islands. We had the most wonderful meal on Burano. It's a fishing
village.

Also, I saw a Rick Steves the other night and the Veneto looks very
interesting, but we had no time to see it. Ah, another trip, perhaps.
