[Idyllchat] Hotels or Pensions in Rome

My wife and I have booked an apartment in Tuscany the last two weeks
of the season 2008. We are flying to Rome a few days in advance and
plan to drive to Buenconvento from there. Could anyone recommend
inexpensive, clean hotels or pensions for a short stay arriving and
departing.

Also where should we rent our car, and the best route from Rome to the
area just south of Siena.
