[Idyllchat] South Tuscany and Venice

Hi Sue,

We are going to Northern Tuscany in October and prior to arriving at our Untour apartment we are going to be in Verona.  We have decided to also try to take a "peek" at Venice in hopes that sometime in the future we will be able to return for a longer stay.  We are taking the train in to Venice and staying one night.

We have made reservations at Hotel Locanda San Barnaba.
It is in Dorsoduro area and seems easy to get to and in an interesting neighborhood. Since we have not stayed there, we can't recommend it from our experience but we have read good reviews about it and it is reasonable for Venice!

  We are debating about the value of taking a couple of days mid-stay and visiting Venice during our S. Tuscany trip.  Has anyone done this and where did you stay overnight in Venice?  Also, how did you make the trip and how many hours were involved?  Any tips will help with our decision.  Thank you.
