I think there are lessons in your unfortunate story.  First, check it out believe leaving the country.  Call yourself.  Second, make sure you are in a cell tower area, otherwise, just like here, you get get cut off frequently.  Thirdly, if all is is normal, call Mobal and get an explanation and hopefully a refund. It is too bad when you find that the problem you thought you conquered just causes more.   Thanks for sharing.

Finally, never stay on any cell phone while on hold.  It almost always leads to financial disaster.
