My daughter and I stayed in the San Rocco apt in Venice on our first Untour. You use a key to enter into an open hallway from the calle. Then you turn and enter a wide open vestibule. On the left is your apartment, on the ground floor, requiring another key to open.

We loved the apartment. The kitchen and living room were one open area. And at that time had a nice kitchen table and chairs and all the necessary kitchen appliances. The cover to the sofa needed cleaning, but after all these years, I'm sure that's been taken care of. Of course. there was a TV.

Both the kitchen and bedroom windows look out onto lush greenery (someone else's). The standard bathroom has a sink, toilet, bidet, shower, and washing machine.

The bedroom had a queen - I think - bed. I think queen because we had plenty of room. A nice clothes armoire and chest of drawers.

And the best feature of the apartment was our private patio off the bedroom (opposite the window and someone else's garden). We ate many meals on the table there. (and four chairs) And we'd sit out there and plan the next day's itinerary, or just enjoy sitting and relaxing. The clothes-drying rack was out there too.

It is ideal for one or two people, and I'd return to it again.

The area is ideal also. No bridges to cross to get to the vaporetto stop. If you go across a few bridges you will get to Campo Santa Margherita, a very popular campo, full of life day and night. As you leave the campo and go towards Campo San Barnaba, there is Duchamps bar on the corner. Next to that is a little grocery store that we called "No Name" for a long time. It is Punto, and is the only place where I could find my peanut butter. This summer I'd travel from my place in the far eastern area to Punto, just for the peanut butter. In the campo there is also a nice variety store, a fill-up store, popular bars (cafes in the US) and trattoria, both with outdoor seating to enjoy people-watching and get fresh air.

Enjoy your visi there. Lynanne
