We visit those locations from the Heartland--two separate trips for us.  Lausanne/Montreux (with an over night in Vevey).   Neuchatel/Biel we have do in day trips.  We stay at the moderately priced Bahnhof hotel in Vevey, but have also stayed at the recommended Borders hotel in Lausanne--very nice, but more expensive.  If you are a sports minded family, the Olympic Museum at Olympic headquarters in Lausanne is outstanding.  Do see the gardens even if you don't go to the museum.   Joan.

  We are planning to visit one or more of the western Swiss border lakes this year. We are staying in the Heartland and are considering an overnight.  We would appreciate it if we could have info from those of you who have suggestions from your favorite experiences for such areas as Lausanne,  Montreux, Neuchatel, or Biel.  Also any suggestions for hotels would be appreciated.
