In the event you cannot make a trip to Thun as soon as you might like,
you can order a soft cheese knife on the internet. Or you could order
a hard cheese knife. A number of companies offer the knives made in
Switzerland or Germany.
In the best of all possible worlds, I would prefer to be in Thun
purchasing a great, practical souvenir of my favorite Untour
destination. Unfortunately, I can't return to Switzerland, God willing,
until next summer.
Bob, I love anything connected with food, so thanks for the tip on the
cheese knife.

Several years ago while in Switzerland, we bought an interesing
looking cheese knife. Later when using it, we were delighted with the
way it cut cheese as well as fruits and vegetables. I think the reason
for the good cutting is the highly polished, stainless steel surface.
The holes in the blade may also contribute. Last month when on another
Swiss Untour, we made a special effort to obtain more knives and were
successful. We got 8 knives from Zuercher, Milk and Dairy Shop,
Freienhofgasse in Thun.
The cost was about 7 Sfr each. So, if you are looking for an excellent
cheese knife, here is where you can find one. Good hunting.
