Lake Sarnen rose about 18 inches in a 24 hour period. The creeks are  
almost full. There is some flooding of lower areas along the lake,  
and there are some roads that have been under water but are now open.  
There was a mudslide in Lungern, where exactly, I don't know. It has  
not rained since early AM (6 hours ago). The fire depts. are busy  
pumping but no major damage.

The western parts of CH seem the worst, and the radar shows lots of  
rain coverage still there. Compared to the floods two years ago, not  
too bad. More rain in lesser amounts is forecast until the weekend.

During the course of a conversation on living wills, I told my wife I  
never wanted to exist in a vegetative state, dependent on some  
machine and taking fluids from a bottle. She got up, unplugged the TV  
and threw out all my beer.
