I did Holland (Leyden) in the off-season about 4-years ago and if Idyll keeps twisting my arm I will certainly return. I've been through Holland in the Tulip season and it was gorgeous but crowded. In November there are no Tulips and few tourists. I, like you, do not mind cool, damp weather. Maybe it's selective forgetting but I can't remember but one or two of the fourteen days' stay when there was no sun. One fond memory was watching some of the Dutch on their bikes peddling like crazy. chatting on their cell phones, some even managing to hold an umbrella!!!!
So, if you don't mind doing without the services of the host and purchasing your own transportation tickets, I can't think of any reason not to go "Dutch" in November!

Has anyone done the Holland off-season? We noticed the great
off-season price for Holland in November when the average temperature
is in the 40Fs - which is an OK temperature for us. Can you give us
any guidance? Are we nuts to consider this time of the years there?
