You can get accurate information about train schedules and  
connections at: http://www.reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

There is a publication "The Thomas Cook European Timetable" that is  
published about every month or so. That is an exhaustive listing of  
the European trains for most countries. It includes train, as well as  
bus and boat connections, where appropriate.  Years ago before the  
internet I used that for an extensive train trip through several  
European countries. I am not sure where you can purchase it in the  
US. Fourteen years ago when I bought mine there was only one or two  
outlets in the US that sold it. I am sure you could locate it via the  
internet.
