i sent one message to the wrong address, sorry to whomever got it!  I thought , since we were on the south Tuscany untour last spring that I should mention that at that time one could not return the car to Chiusi.  we returned ours in florence(very good instructions from Harriet ,followed exactly, no problem) We stayed overnight at the Pendini and left on the 1:30 for rome, where we had the 1 week untour add- on.  We would arrange to go to florence a few days ahead another time, and then have the full two weeks in tuscany and then the one week in rome.  whatever you do, it will be awesome, at least it was for us, and the untours people were very helpful.   the only tricky bit was at CDG airport, and that all worked out very well.(thanks to untours!)  Have a good long space between flights, unless of course they have CDG completed and more efficient/.
