To all -- I'm new at this, it's my first message and somehow
I hit the wrong button sending off  a message with no content.

I just called USAA because it sounded so good; the representative I  
spoke with gave the following information.
the banking services are ONLY for the military. I offered my  
husband's Korean War service but he would have had to open an account  
with USAA within a year after his discharge. I said  I'd heard that  
although USAA would sell insurance only to vets,  the banking  
services were open to all. Not so, according to this representative.

Also, for those of you who are eligible, be aware that USAA offers  
only debit cards, not straight ATM cards. If you lose your debit card  
or it is stolen,  your account can be accessed by whoever has it.
