[Idyllchat] Flying British Air

Just yesterday a friend was visiting who had flown from Manchester,
England a week ago. He said that the regulations there apply to the
entire country and are not different between airports or airlines,
other than minor personnel discretions.

He said that some of the female passengers reportedly even had their
toes examined to be sure they weren't hiding cosmetics! Apparently a
reaction to some being very upset about not being able to bring such
items in the cabin with them. Other than a much longer than usual
time to board due to the increased security, he said it was uneventful.

He did mention that the lack of passengers scrambling for overhead
bin space for their carry on bags simplified matters. A friend of
ours who is a flight attendant told us recently that their jobs have
been greatly eased due to the same thing. i.e. having to deal with
passengers bringing excessive carry on baggage and trying to stow it
all in overhead bins.
