Travel insurance...do we need it, which company should we go with....has been a subject of discussion recently on the chatline.  Want to give you our recent experience.  Two weeks before our Untour, I developed a herniated disc, lost most use of my left leg for 6 weeks, and we had to cancel.  After notifying Untours and Travel Insured International, we very quickly received a check for the refundable portion from Idyll.  And only a couple weeks later, a check for the remaining amount arrived from Travel Insured.  We have always purchased the insurance through Travel Insured, the company recommended by Idyll, and this experience reinforces the value of travel insurance to us.  It sure doesn't help with the disappointment of a missed trip (our 15th Untour, to celebrate our 40th anniversary), but the financial part is sure covered.
