A lot of Idyllers in The Heartland have been to St. Gallen. It is a
day trip that isn't too long. I have been several times, usually to
go to the World Heritage Site, the Bibliothek. I do not recall ever
going into the adjacent cathedral, but I expect that other Idyllers
have done this.

Today, my friend, Herr Britschgi, and I got on the subject of church
organs, and he gave some information that makes me want to go back to
St. Gallen's cathedral. It seems that in the nave of the cathedral
there are two organs, one on each lateral wall. These are behind a
screen so visitors cannot enter, but they are visible from outside
the grating. These two organs were built in 1778 and are unique. They
are unique because the keys and pedals are connected by strings under
the floor of the nave. When a key is touched on one, the note plays
from both.

There is an organ in the rear of the church also, so at times they
have three organ concerts in this cathedral. Now, that must be
something indeed.

I checked this out on several internet sites but found no confirmation.

Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank machines?
