Hi Katie Berry, We were in Nafplio, using Dimitri 1, in November
2005. I think you will be in the apartment above ours. You will find
the appliances and fixtures and customs different from home which is
good. If everything was the same you might as well stay home.
Street signs are generally given in both alphabets, Greek and the one we
are used to, Latin. We returned with maps of Nafplio, the Peloponnesian
Peninsula, and all of Greece. Maps were provided by Avis and/or
Idyll. You will have no trouble walking around town. Getting out of
town is a bit harder!
There is a super market two or three blocks from the Dimitri and there
are small stores scattered about. No problem finding groceries.
Nafplio has two market days: one in the old city and the other in the
new part of town. A month or two before you embark Idyll will send a
booklet with lots of info., good advice about driving, etc.
