Dear Vance,

We were extremely impressed with the Graubunden area hike from Preda to Bergun that you recommended during our 4 days of extra time we had in Switzerland, following our late June Untours stay in the gorgeous Swiss Heartland. The surroundings around the hiking trail were so pretty, and the 100 year old stone train bridges and their columns stunning. Bergun was so charming, with its paintings trimming the stucco buildings, especially around the windows. And their buildings were just plopped in all different angles up against each other and overlapping each other, sometimes!

Also, the small Hotel Albula that you recommended and we stayed at, there in Bergun at the Albula Pass, was great! It was a nice ending to our Swiss trip, to stay in a hotel and have our rooms cleaned and bed made for us each day, and get to eat all our meals out with no dishwashing afterwards!

We loved the very long chair lift near Bergun, which had just opened for the summer when we were there the beginning of July. Another beautiful hike at the top!

We also hiked to Soglio in the Bergell -- beautiful, too. (We didn't stay at La Soglio because they never answered our email, and besides were a bit too expensive and lavish for our needs.)

(Sorry I heard you weren't in Switzerland when we had our "Goodbye party" in Sachseln. I would have liked to have met you.)

Thank you for the great travel recommendation. So glad we took your advice.

  Linda

  Vance,

The pictures of La Soglina on its web site, and the surrounding area are breathtaking!
I can hardly wait to show my husband when he gets home from work.

Thank you again for your wonderful advice! And that includes the Bergun area, too.

  Linda
