[Idyllchat] HTML gobbledy gook in messages

I am new to IdyllChat and would like to know if there is some way to avoid all the HTML gobbledy gook that appears with each message? This is a real pain to scroll through and try to identify the real message from the stuff about fonts, etc. Surely there's a way to avoid this?
