Lived in Ridgewood NJ. before moving here to Columbus MS...so I know of 
which you speak-- ie taxes and the commute to NYC. Husband worked at 
World Trade Center, and I did Doris Day every pm to pick up at the 
train...Ridgewood is a village and is quite piscuresque..but expensive 
even 18 years ago. Our taxes here are $450.00 per year----but now about 
$50.00 as senior citizens----and no snow but sadly no theatre . There is 
always plus and minus.
