[Idyllchat] Family trip to Europe?

My sister, her husband and I (the AUNT) would like to take all of us plus 
their 2 somewhat jaded sons, ages 12 and 18, on a family trip next year.  
The interests that they have in the US center around computers and video 
games, and we want them to see a different culture.  Anywhere in Europe 
would do for that, I realize, but in addition they enjoy music, WWII 
history, and cars.  My sister thinks that Switzerland is a great choice (and 
Switzerland is awesome), but I'm thinking that maybe the Rhine tour or 
Austria would afford us the chance to experience a different way of life, 
see some War sites, and maybe even go to a car factory.  I don't want to go 
out on a limb here, so really would appreciate some Untour advice. She has 
heard from other Untourists that the train systems in Germany and Austria 
aren't that dependable or extensive.  Can some of you give us some advice?
