Wewere likely in Germany and Austria when this request was sent. One of =
the reasons there hasn't been any accomodation in Munich, reasonable or =
not, is World Cup. However, fussball has moved north to Berlin, and =
will end on Sunday. However, there is much residual tourism from the =
cup activities. =20
Favorite and reasonable accomodations we used in the past near the =
Munich hauptbahnhof were not available--even last August. Everything =
was blocked for World Cup. So we booked in Erding, 15 k. northeast of =
the airport last August. Best Western, Approx. 124 Euros. Fabulous =
breakfast and personal service. Round trip shuttle from airport was 19 =
Euros. This was just an overnight stay after all night flight from west =
coast--back to the airport in the morning to pick up the rental car. =

Several weeks ago there was a plea for Munich accommodations reachable =
by U or SBahn about 20-30 minutes from city center.
No answers were posted and I lost the email. I got curious why the =
inquiry when there are some reasonable accomodations near the =
Hauptbahnhof. I did look closely at the map I have of U and SBahn stops =
and thought I could come up with something. Let me know what your =
reason might be for staying outside city center and I might be able to =
help. If room cost is a consideration, let me know what numbers you =
were thinking of. Sorry this reply is so late coming.
