Jayne,
I would recommend a day trip to Tours where you can get a 3-4 hour tour =
of the chateaus at Villandry and Chenonceau. You can get these tours =
right at the train station or any tourist info office. For a shorter =
trip a visit to Chartres is well worth it.
Since we have been to Paris many times, last fall we took a day trip =
from Paris to Troyes which was very un-touristy.

I am also considering the candlelight visit to Vaux-le-Vicomte. I =
understand getting there and back is a little challenging particularly =
if we are out late in the castle. I saw a tour Rick Steve's recommends, =
Paris Vision. It is 151 Euros each. Is anyone is aware of an =
alternative? Again, any information you can share is greatly =
appreciated.
