There are new figures out on education systems in Europe and the USA.
The top four countries in order are, Finland, Korea, Canada, and
Switzerland. This is in reading and math. The USA ranks seventh in
reading and tenth in math.

The Swiss spend the most per pupil in dollars at 88,951 from 1st
through 9th grade. The USA is second at 83,910 dollars. Finland is
sixth at 59,043, and Korea spends the least at 43,173 dollars.

Interesting that the Swiss have the most foreign students in these
grades at 20.5 %, while the USA has only 6.6 %. Finland and Korea have
1.7 % and 0.3 % respectively.

Not all of us are getting our dollar's worth.

All of this came out of the PISA testing which has its proponents and
its critics.
