In CH, when a couple gets married, they have a choice of four ways to
be surnamed.

If Mary Smith marries Joe Jones, they can have the following to choose:

1. All, including children have the name Jones.

2. All, including children are named Smith. This requires a premarital
permit by the Kanton, and the husband would be named Jones-Smith.

3. Mary can keep her name and be called Mary Smith-Jones. Children would
only have the name Jones.

4. The whole group can be named Jones-Smith, but not for public
documents unless a formal change is made.
