The Hudson's "cutsy" comment about people for war to volunteer is a =
perfect example of the shallow thinking going on around the world. =
Those of us who have experienced war know better. No right thinking =
person ever wished for war. It is a horrible thing. However, peace at =
any cost is worse. Peace is more than just the absence of war. If one =
is not free to pursue their dream, peace is also a prison. =20

We who support the administration's policy will not take to the streets =
to promote war. We do not want war! However, there seems to be no =
other honorable choice. Evil must be confronted. =20

The motives of France and Germany are questionable. After Iraq is =
settled, I believe we will find duplicity in their role in the Middle =
East. China and Russia want nothing more than to gain "face".

Protesters say "not in my name." Well, my name is Chuck, and the United =
States and our allies may use it. Our cause is right and just.=20

    Vance,

No, you are not the only person who remembers Neville Chamberlain, =
but evidently most people who remember, would like to act as if they =
don't! The younger generations probably have no clue as to what you are =
referring to, and probably couldn't care less, but if we don't learn =
from past mistakes we're definitely doomed. I went to the Encyclopedia =
and looked up what was written about Chamberlain, and here it is.

"Chamberlain failed lamentably to cope with the aggressive policy of =
Hitler and Mussolini; and his technique of appeasement of the Axis =
powers, culminating in the Munich agreement of Sept. 29, 1938, has since =
been vigorously and universally condemned. In March 1939, when =
Chamberlain's confidence in "peace in our time" had been betrayed by the =
German occupation of what was left of Czechoslovakia after Munich, his =
government made an attempt to salvage British prestige by guaranteeing =
Polish territorial integrity. This measure, however, merely made =
inevitable, less than six months later, the participation of Great =
Britain in the conflict that developed rapidly from the German invasion =
of Poland into World War 11."

Because we did not go in at the beginning and finish it off then, =
many more of our young people were killed than needed to be. Nobody who =
is sane would want to go to war, but there are times when it is =
inevitable - especially when dealing with a mad man!
