The word "dandelion" is derived from the French "dent de lion", meaning =
lion's tooth.  According to my dictionary, the term "dent de lion" has =
pretty much been replaced by "pissenlit" in France; I don't know about =
French-speaking Switzerland.  Fun to speculate about the derivation of =
"pissenlit" ("lit" means "bed".........

  did you know the Swiss refer to the alp dandelions as=20
   "lions teeth"?  I found that in a flower book I bought near Magisalp =
